Wednesday, 27 June 2012

The Treasury advises that the European Union has made amendments to the list of persons and entities subject to restrictive measures under Council Regulation (EU) No. 753/2011 in view of the situation in Afghanistan, which reflect decisions made by the United Nations Security Council Committee established pursuant to UN Security Council Resolution 1988 (2011).

The Treasury further advises that Council Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 2012/544/CFSP has added to the list of persons and entities included in Annex II of Council Regulation (EU) No. 36/2012 and therefore subject to financial sanctions, in view of the situation in Syria.

Details of the additions and amendments involved are contained on the attached Annex.

The amended Consolidated Lists of those affected by restrictions under these Regulations may be found on the HM Treasury website. Those on these Lists are also subject to sanctions in the Isle of Man.
