22nd June 2011 IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICESafety Recall – Children’s TT HoodiesThe Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading wishes to make consumers aware of a potential safety issue with children’s TT hoodies sold on the Internet and in local shops, including temporary premises located behind The Grandstand during the TT. The sizes affected are ages 2 – 3 years, 3 - 4 years, 5 - 6 years and 7 - 8 years. Photographs of a typical hoodie can be found below: Motorsport Merchandise Limited, the importer, advises that the hoodies do not comply with the Children’s Clothing (Hood Cords) Regulations 1976 and has taken the decision to recall them. To prevent injury and possible strangulation, the Regulations prohibit the sale of children’s outer garments with hoods designed to be secured by means of hood cords drawn through the material. If you have purchased one of these hoodies, PLEASE STOP YOUR CHILD WEARING IT IMMEDIATELY and contact the helpline 01624 667808/679734 or return it to the shop you bought it from where a full purchase price refund will be given. You can also contact Motorsport Merchandise Limited through its website www.ttmerchandise.com. The Office of Fair Trading supports the responsible precautionary measure taken by Motorsport Merchandise Limited to recall these items and is pleased to be able to provide this information to consumers. Please note that only the hoodies being recalled are affected. All other products sold by Motorsport Merchandise Limited are unaffected. 22nd June 2011
