IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading wishes to make consumers aware of three recalls relating to products sold locally:

Jug kettles sold at Tesco

Model Number: JKR16 Price £9.94

Tesco Rapid Boil Cordless Jug Kettle

Tesco is taking the precautionary measure of recalling this product due to a potential fault, which may lead to scalding.

This recall only affects kettles that have been on sale since May 2006 with model number JKR16. The product name and model number can be found on the rating label located on the base of the kettle.

If you have bought one of these kettles, stop using it immediately and return it to the store in which it was purchased. A full refund will be given.

Hot water bottles sold at Boots

There is a potential safety problem with Boots hot water bottles bought between October 2005 and January 2007.

The affected hot water bottles were all manufactured in 2005 and were coloured in cream, blue and red. There is a risk of the bottles splitting during use.

To check if you have one of the affected hot water bottles, look at the circle on the back of the neck of the bottle. If the number moulded in the inner circle is 05, stop using the bottle. Return the bottle to your nearest Boots store and you'll receive a replacement.

If your hot water bottle is inside a cover, you only need return the hot water bottle for an exchange as the cover isn't affected.

Toy dogs sold at Next

Next Newborn Dog Toy

Anyone who has bought a Next Newborn Dog Toy (Item Number 999032) should return it immediately to a Next store for a full refund. The nose on the toy could become detached and this may present a possible choking hazard to young babies.
