Important Safety Notice – Tesco Rapid Boil Kettle Model Number JKRBP12

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading wishes to make the public aware of an important safety notice which relates to the Tesco Rapid Boil Kettle model number JKRBP12.

Tesco has taken the precautionary measure of recalling this product after identifying that the bottom of the kettle may detach from the body on a small number of units thereby presenting a risk of burning/scalding to the user.

Only model no. JKRBP12 with batch codes starting with 13 in a format 13mmdd are affected. The model number and batch code can be identified from the rating plate positioned on the bottom of the kettle and on the bottom of the base unit. See photograph.

No other Tesco models are affected by this recall.

What you need to do:

If the batch code is different to 13xxxx, the kettle is not affected and you can continue to use it.

If the batch code is 13xxxx, do not use the kettle and return it to your nearest Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is required.
