IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE – BUCKLE USED ON CHICCO AUTO-FIX & CHICCO SYNTHESIS CHILD CAR SEATS

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading wishes to make the public aware of an important safety notice issued in relation to a particular buckle used on child restraint systems.

Various manufacturers have used the buckle concerned on their child restraint systems, which have been sold individually (for example, car seats) or as part of travel systems (for example, strollers with car seat).

The buckle concerned may have a manufacturing defect that could reduce its restraint capacity resulting in a safety hazard in the event of an accident.

As a precautionary measure, the users of Chicco Auto-Fix & Chicco Synthesis child car seats are advised to visit either of the following websites to check if their seat is affected and to get further instructions:

Only child restraint systems equipped with the buckle concerned are affected. If you do not have access to the internet and are concerned that you may have an affected product, please contact the OFT on 686500 for further advice.
