Bay Festival Cancellation

Following the news of the cancellation of the Bay Festival the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading advises consumers that as the festival has been cancelled by the organiser they are entitled to a refund. This is because the organiser failed to provide what they sold.

Consumers should follow the instructions set out on the Bay Festival website www.bayfestival.im to register for a refund namely:-

• Write to IOM Bay Festival Ltd, PO Box 1234, Peel IOM, IM99 9YA setting out your claim for a refund (by post only – no emails or ‘phone calls).
• Enclose a “proof of purchase”.

All refund requests must be made by 17th June 2011. Refunds will be paid on or before 29th July 2011.

Chief Officer of the OFT, Paul Gelling said “It is very disappointing for consumers that the Bay Festival is not going ahead. The organiser has provided information on how to claim a refund. Consumers are asked to follow the process set out on the organiser’s website. If they experience any difficulties with that process they should contact the Office on 686500”
