The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading wishes to make the public aware of an important safety notice which relates to various Tixylix paediatric liquid cough and cold medicines.

The medicines concerned are:-

TIXYLIX BABY SYRUP 100ML:

Batches - 10RR Expiry date 01/11/15, 11RR Expiry date 01/11/15, 1SS Expiry date 01/11/15, 2SS Expiry date 01/12/15, 2TT Expiry date 01/02/16, 8SS2 Expiry date 01/01/16, 8VV Expiry date 01/06/16.

TIXYLIX BLACKCURRANT FLAVOUR SYRUP 100ML:

Batches - 1VV Expiry date 1/06/16, 3VV Expiry date 01/07/16, 3VV2 Expiry date 01/06/16.

TIXYLIX CHESTY COUGH 100ML:

Batches - 1RR Expiry date 01/08/15, 1TT Expiry date 01/05/16, 2RR Expiry date 01/08/15.

TIXYLIX TODDLER SYRUP 100ML:

A potential manufacturing fault with the tamper seal on the bottles might result in small pieces of plastic being found in the medicines.

Whilst no pieces of plastic have been found in Tixylix medicines and the potential occurrence of this defect is very low, as a precaution, the specific batches above are being recalled.

Consumers should return these medicines to the place of purchase for a refund. If you have purchased any of the medicines for someone else you should let them know about this as soon as possible.
