Digital Inclusion
We’ve launched our Digital Inclusion Strategy 2016-2021 for the Isle of Man. This brings together partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors to help people get online. It’s part of the Government’s Digital Strategy, which aims to bring more services online and help more people to access them.
Helping more people to get online can help them benefit from access to training and jobs, social and leisure activities and to access internet shopping. Being online can also help to address wider social issues and support economic growth.
Learning opportunities
Gain skills in:
- Basic computer literacy
- Microsoft office software
- Social media usage
- Tablet functionality
If you would like to develop your skills there are lots of learning opportunities available at University College Isle of Man, Age Concern, Leonard Cheshire drop-in and libraries in Ramsey, Peel, Onchan, Castletown, Douglas and Port Erin.
There are also lots of opportunities to volunteer your digital skills and expertise with a local charity or voluntary group, or informally support family, friends, colleagues or neighbours.
The Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal has a small number of PCs with internet access in the Get Online room. You can also access support with Government Online Services through this team.
