Isle of Man Ship Registry Charity Golf Competition 2011
Following last year’s successful Ship Registry Charity Golf day which raised £2000 for the King George V Fund for Sailors we are pleased to advise that another charity golf day has been organised for 2011.
On Friday 12th August, again with the kind support of the Isle of Man Shipping Association, the Ship Registry will be hosting a special charity golf competition at Rowany to raise funds for the King George V Fund for Sailors. Tee off is at 13.30 followed by a hot buffet, raffle and presentations in the clubhouse.
The cost of entering a team of four players is £100.00.
The competition will be a stableford format with the highest 3 scores each hole totalled and marked.
As in previous years each hole on the course can be specially named by a sponsor. This is a popular theme in which many local organisations prove to be very inventive in their choice of names. It also prompts a bit of a scramble as sponsors seek out the ‘best’ holes (the first, the last, the longest, the shortest, the most difficult etc..) to rename. Although we will place the sponsors’ name/logo on the tee box and on the scorecard you may also wish to put your own advertisement (corporate banner, flag, tees, balls etc…) at your sponsored hole – just let us know beforehand so the Rowany groundsmen can be advised.
The cost of sponsoring a hole is £100.00.
Note that we have to abide by a first-come process so if your chosen pin is already sponsored we will contact you and suggest the next appropriate available one.

A number of prize holes have been indentified and will be revealed on the day.
