The JobCentre also maintains strong links with the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force who regularly visit our offices as part of their recruitment programme. The visiting officers are keen to meet and talk to anyone who would like to find out more about the exciting careers and opportunities available by the Armed Forces. They also carry out pre-arranged interviews with people who have already made contact.
Free Microsoft Office Training
Free Microsoft Office training is available through the JobCentre for those who are unemployed and those in low paid employment claiming Social Security benefits.
Training is delivered in our newly refurbished classroom at Nivison House. We offer courses in Microsoft office for complete beginners, those looking for refresher training, and those wishing to progress to a Level 2 standard. The JobCentre is a fully accredited training centre and we can offer you the opportunity to take a short exam and, on passing, be awarded with an ICDL (International Computer Digital Literacy Certificate at Level 2.
Our training is delivered in an informal manner and is paced to suit your ability, needs and availability.
To succeed in this course, you will need access to a PC or laptop with Microsoft Office 2010/2016, as self-study will be an essential part of your learning.

Disability Employment Service
The Disability Employment Service (DES)is also based at the JobCentre.
The DES team is available to offer advice and assistance if you have a disability or health problem that is likely to last for 12 months or more and which affects your ongoing ability to perform in the workplace.
