Deadline approaching for Civil Service Commission applications

Tuesday, 19 August 2014

The deadline is fast approaching for Isle of Man residents who wish to apply to become a member of the Civil Service Commission.

Individuals who feel they have the necessary skills to make a positive contribution to this important area of Island life have until 5pm on Tuesday 26 August to submit an application.

The Civil Service Commission is currently the employing authority for civil servants in the Isle of Man. A major part of its role is to ensure a high calibre, appropriately skilled and well-motivated Civil Service.

Appointed directly by the Chief Minister, the successful candidate would work alongside the Civil Service Commission’s political Chairman Chris Robertshaw MHK and Vice-Chairman Juan Turner MLC, as well as other non-Tynwald Members.

An information pack detailing the role and responsibilities is available at http://www.gov.im/categories/working-in-the-isle-of-man/public-appointments/ and an application form can be completed and submitted electronically via the webpage.

Printed copies of the pack and form are available from;

The Civil Service Commission will in due course be superseded by the Public Services Commission. The House of Keys has given its support to a proposal to bring together civil servants with manual and craft workers under a single new employing body.
