Application forms and fees

To apply for an Isle of Man variant British Passport please download and complete the application form below. This form can be used for those applying for their first British passport or those wishing to renew an expired or full passport.

If you have lost or had your last passport stolen, please also complete form LS01 and send it with your completed passport application.

If you have changed your name, you will need to apply for a new passport. Please provide official documentation to show your change of name in original form along with your completed passport renewal form.

Please ensure you use the current passport application, as some older versions of the application are no longer acceptable.

Copies of forms can be obtained from the Passports Office or can be posted to individuals upon written request.

Application forms

Application for a British passport: Print and complete (all applicants).

Lost or stolen passport notification - Form LS01: This form must be completed for all lost and stolen passports.

Application for a temporary passport: This form must be completed along with an application form - for more details see Temporary Passport information.

Deceased passport holder notification: In the event the passport holder has died, please print and complete this form and return to our office. We will return the cancelled passport to you.

Processing times

The Isle of Man Passport Office does not provide updates as to what stage individual passport applications are at.

  • Standard – is taking up to 20 working days

  • Express – suspended temporarily from the 18 August 2023

  • Emergency – within 24 Hours (working days) once paid for

Please note these service times should not be taken as a guarantee. Whilst every effort is made to meet them, circumstances beyond our control may prevent the delivery of the passport in the specified timescales above.

Fees

Adult Passports - 16 years of age and over

  • Standard Service: £100
  • Express Service* (currently suspended): £178
  • Adult Temporary Passport*: £219

*Cheques not accepted for Express or Temporary Passport services.

Born before 2 September 1929

If you were born on or before 2 September 1929 you are eligible for a free standard 10 year passport. If you need to use the Express or Emergency service, you will need to pay the relevant fee.

  • Standard Service: Nil
  • Express Service:  £78
  • Emergency Service: £119

Child Passports – 5 year validity

  • Standard Service: £69
  • Express Service* (currently suspended): £147
  • Child Temporary Passport*: £188

Payment methods

Public Counter 

  • Standard Service - Cheque, cash, credit/debit cards or postal orders 

  • Express Service - Cash, credit/debit cards or postal orders 

Postal Application 

  • Standard Service - Cheque, credit/debit cards (on the completed payment form) or postal orders 

  • Express Service - Credit/debit cards (on the completed payment form) or postal orders. Cheques are not acceptable for this service 

Cheques should be made payable to Isle of Man Government.

Additional fees

  • If you wish to have your original documents and/or cancelled passport returned to you by registered post, there is an additional fee of £5 payable for each application

Overseas passports

Applicants who are resident abroad can apply for their renewal British passports online through UK Overseas Passports.
