New digital assistance provisions and enhanced community support will be available from 31 March 2026, to help customers access drivers and vehicles services ahead of the Isle of Man Post Office ceasing offering these services on 1 April 2026.
To support the transition to on line services there will be in-person help and devices available at the Vehicle Test Centre and at the Sea Terminal, with support at other locations around the Island.
To support those who cannot use on line service the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) has confirmed a range of locations where paper forms can be obtained and the post can be used.
Vehicle Test Centre and the Online Support Centre
Support to complete transactions online will be available primarily at the Vehicle Test Centre and the Online Support Centre at the Sea Terminal, where DOI will be available throughout the week to assist in digital completion on supplied Government or personal devices. Pre-completed paper forms can be submitted here too.
Libraries
Outside of Douglas, these transactions can be completed online with some support through access to devices and internet at local libraries, initially available at Ramsey Town Library, Port Erin Library and Castletown Library with further locations being explored in partnership with local authorities.
Paper forms will be available at the libraries mentioned above for those who prefer to complete them by hand for posting to the Vehicle Test Centre.
Third Sector
The Department of Infrastructure is also working with a number of third sector organisations that already provide digital assistance and skills support. Briefing packs are being provided to ensure these organisations can confidently continue to support residents in accessing the new online services.
Support available through these organisations includes bookable one-to-one sessions, group support in libraries and community settings, and home visits, subject to assessment and availability. Confirmed organisations include Live at Home, Age Concern and Southern Befrienders. They can be contacted directly for support.
These arrangements contribute to wider, ongoing work to develop community support hubs across the Island, supporting access to services as delivery continues to evolve online.

Support for other services can be sought at the Welcome Centre as normal.
