Teams and riders were on hand to meet fans and sign memorabilia as representatives from the Department of Economic Development’s Motorsport Team and Regency Travel promoted the Island's 2014 Motorcycle sport calendar while the TT Trophies were also on display on the Isle of Man Motorcycle Sport stand.

Laurence Skelly MHK the Department’s Political Member with responsibility for Tourism and Motorsport commented:

‘The Isle of Man is now an integral part of the Motorcycle Live show, which attracted 100,000 visitors this year, and is an important part of how we market the Isle of Man's motorcycling events to a wider audience. It's clear from the number of visitors to the stand that our events continue to attract a large number of fans and this augurs well for the Visitor Economy in 2014.’

Many of the leading riders including John McGuinness, James Hillier, Conor Cummins and Dave Molyneux took part in TT chat shows with James Whitham on the Motorcycle Live stage while two TT teams also went head to head in the 'Question of TT Races' quiz.

The start of the show ten days earlier had seen a dedicated Classic TT day to promote the 2014 Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling, which coincided with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company reporting a 50% increase in bookings compared with the same date in 2012.

The start of the show was also marked with ticket sales going live for the 2014 TT Races, Classic TT Races and Manx Grand Prix, with the 2014 Motorcycle Events brochure handed out to visitors also promoting the racing on the Billown Course.

Fans snapped up tickets with the main TT Grandstand quickly selling out, while the other round course grandstands are also selling fast. VIP Hospitality tickets are also selling quickly while the MotoGP day and 'Final Qualifying Session' events are also close to capacity.

As well as the launch of the 2014 Grandstand and Hospitality packages, the TT organisers also released a number of stories including the launch of the Honda-backed 2014 race team featuring local hero Conor Cummins and twenty time race winner John McGuinness, the launch of the limited edition 2014 Arai TT helmet and the news that frontman for well-known band ‘The Prodigy’ Keith Flint will back a race team at the TT next year. Race schedules for the TT races, the Manx Grand Prix and the Classic TT were also released.
