Bus Vannin is pleased to announce a new bus service to meet passenger requirements.
The new 8S service will directly connect Peel, Foxdale, the Airport, Castletown, Port Erin (via Shore Road), Port St Mary and the Sound via Cregneash.
The route, which is hoped will start operation in time for the school summer holidays, will fill a gap in bus services in Foxdale and to the Airport and the south, which were mentioned in the consultation responses to the bus service review.
Subject to approval from the Road Transport Licensing Committee, this service will run year round, seven day a week. The new service will be reviewed once in place and depending on the take up of the service changes may be made.
Infrastructure Minister Dr Michelle Haywood said:
‘I am delighted that Bus Vannin are able to introduce this route. Connecting the west of the Island and Foxdale directly to the airport and onwards to Cregneash and the Sound is good news for residents and visitors to our Island.'
