Sunday flights introduced from the isle of man to belfast city and newcastle

Thursday, 23 November 2017

Flybe franchise partner, Eastern Airways, is introducing Sunday flights on its Isle of Man routes to Belfast City and Newcastle.

The new Sunday services will help to provide weekend break opportunities and assist business passengers travelling to their destination on a Sunday ready for an early start on Mondays.  Flights are now available to book for travel from 18 February 2018.

Earlier this year the UK regional airline secured the future of Isle of Man services to Belfast City, Newcastle and Glasgow, following Citywing’s liquidation.

Sunday services to Belfast City will leave the Isle of Man at 7.10pm, landing at 7.45pm.  Flights depart Belfast City at 5.50pm, arriving in the Isle of Man at 6.25pm.

To Newcastle, Sunday services will leave the Isle of Man at 7.10pm, arriving at 9.20pm. Flights depart Newcastle at 4.14pm, landing in the Isle of Man at 6.25pm.

Although Eastern Airways re-established routes from the Isle of Man earlier this year, the airline entered a new partnership with long standing Isle of Man Airport operator, Flybe, on 29 October 2017.  All Eastern Airways flights are now bookable at Flybe.com and fares on its routes from the Isle of Man start from £54.99 one way, including taxes and charges.

Mathew Herzberg, Eastern Airways’ Head of Commercial, said:

'The introduction of Sunday services will open up weekend leisure traffic to the Isle of Man from Belfast City and Newcastle.  Sunday flights will also benefit business travellers who can now reach Belfast City, Newcastle and the Isle of Man in advance for early Monday morning meetings.  We do listen to customer feedback and continually review our schedules to meet their needs.'

Ann Reynolds, Director of Ports, Isle of Man Airport, said:

'We are pleased Eastern Airways is reacting to customer feedback by introducing the Sunday flights.  We will continue to work with Eastern Airways to help further improve the schedule.'

Eastern Airways has a fleet consisting of two Embraer 170 and three Embraer 145 jets, as well as one ATR 72-600, eight Saab 2000s and 17 Jetstream 41 aircraft.
