Intra-Company Migrant Visa

Overview

This route enables multinational employers to transfer their existing employees from outside the EEA to their Isle of Man branch for training purposes or to fill a specific vacancy.

Applicants under the Isle of Man Worker ICT route (Worker ICT Migrants) are not required to meet the English language requirements and are exempt from the Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT).

Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) is not applicable under this route.

An applicant under this route MUST have been issued with a valid Confirmation of Employment (CoE) from the Isle of Man branch of their employer before making an application for entry clearance.

People coming to work in the Isle of Man do not pay the healthcare surcharge nor do they get a Biometric Resident Card.

How long you can stay

Entry clearance if approved, is granted for an initial maximum period of 3 years and 14 days.

You can start your stay up to 14 days before the start date on your confirmation of employment.

Example

Your start date is 15 July – the earliest you can start your stay is 1 July

Switching from an Worker ICT Migrant visa

Worker ICT Migrants may be permitted to switch to the Worker Migrant route, providing they meet all requirements of that route, which includes both the English language requirement and the Resident Labour Market Test. 

Applicants should note that time spent in the Isle of Man as a Worker ICT Migrant does not count towards Indefinite Leave to Remain, therefore for ILR purposes – permitted time towards ILR will begin at the date a Worker Migrant visa is granted.

What you can and can’t do

You can:

• work for your sponsor in the job described in your certificate of sponsorship
• do a second job in certain circumstances
• do voluntary work
• study as long as it doesn’t interfere with the job you’re sponsored for
• travel abroad and return to the UK
• bring family members with you

You can’t:

• be self-employed or in a position akin to self-employment
• get public funds
• apply for a second job until you’ve started working for your sponsor
