Apply for Entry Clearance

Applicants living overseas who wish to come to the Isle of Man to work and who hold a valid Confirmation of Employment, must apply online from their country of residence. The British Embassy will after some initial processes, refer the visa application to Isle of Man Immigration Service for decision.

Apply to renew your visa

Applicants living in the Isle of Man who wish to renew their worker migrant or worker ICT migrant visa and who hold a valid Confirmation of Employment, should apply to the Isle of Man Immigration Service using form FLR W. Dependants of a worker migrant or worker ICT migrant should use form FLR DEP. The forms are available online. 

Work Permit

The Department for Enterprise is responsible for the economic development of the Isle of Man and issues Work Permits to anyone not classed as an Isle of Man worker.

A non-EEA national who is the holder of an Immigration Employment Document (IED) is exempt from the requirement for a work permit.

An IED is a document, issued in accordance with the Immigration Act which does not preclude the holder from taking up employment in the Island and evidences 

  • leave to enter (whether limited or indefinite)
  • leave to remain (whether limited or indefinite)
  • both

but excludes a certificate of entitlement to a right of abode in the Isle of Man or the UK.
