Immigration offences and Prevention of illegal working

Immigration Offences

If you know that someone is breaking immigration laws - for example, by being in the Isle of Man illegally or by employing an illegal immigrant - you can send us information about it by email.

We may not be able to acknowledge your email message, but, where appropriate, we will investigate and take action. Please try to give us as much information as possible about the offence, such as names and addresses.

We treat all personal information as confidential. We will not tell the person involved that you contacted us, but we will not be able to tell you what action is taken as a result of your information.

Prevention of illegal working in the Isle of Man

This section explains the need to prevent illegal migrant working, the penalties for employing migrants who aren't entitled to work here and how employers can ensure that they employ only legitimate workers.

Illegal working hurts good business, undercuts legal workers and creates illegal profits. It also puts illegal workers themselves at great risk. By working together with employers, we can level the playing field and tackle the exploitation of vulnerable migrants. Unless an employer checks that all prospective employees have the right to work in the Isle of Man, they risk breaking the law and could receive a substantial fine.
