Marinas

Isle of Man Harbours currently operate 2 marina facilities, one in Douglas Harbour on the East Coast, and 1 in Peel Harbour on the West Coast. Both facilities are contained within the Inner Harbours and are in areas of impounded water, with access through a lifting bridge in Douglas, and a swing bridge in Peel. Access is available at approximately 2.5 hours either side of high water.

Peel MarinaBoth marina facilities feature pontoon berths with full hook up facilities for power and water (currently included in the berth fee) and are enclosed by security gates. Access on to the pontoons is by Visitor Access Card, which are available from the Harbour Offices. Facilities also include showers and toilets on site which are for the exclusive use of berth holders. Further facilities are available at the Yacht Clubs. Other berthing is available against the town walls.

There are berths for vessels of up to 12 metres in both marina facilities, and a limited number of berths for 15 metre vessels in Peel. There is no pre-booking system in operation for arriving visitors: berths are allocated on a strictly 'first come, first served' basis. However, a phone call to the appropriate harbour before departure from your last port will indicate the availability of berths. A call to Douglas Harbour or Peel Harbour on VHF Chan 12 when approximately 1 hour from the entrance is appreciated in order for a berth to be allocated upon arrival.

The Harbour Offices are open 7 days a week from 8am to 4.30pm, although this can be extended during the busy summer period.

Out of hours, when the Harbour Offices are closed, the Marine Operations Centre in Douglas has control of the bridges in both Douglas and Peel and can be contacted on VHF Chan 12 for berthing instructions.

Current marina berthing fees are available via related links.

Douglas marina is adjacent to the main part of Douglas town which has all the facilities one would expect of the Island's capital.

Peel marina is also adjacent to the town and close to the Castle.
