Every effort is made to reunite owners with their lost property
Any property left on our buses, trains and trams is logged and retained for a maximum period of 30 days unless considered a health hazard. Perishable goods will be disposed of after 24 hours.
The police will be informed of any dangerous or illegal items found.
Items left on school buses will be returned to the relevant school, providing it can be identified, except on the last day of the school term.
Low value property may be retained at local depots and stations for collection by its owner. All unclaimed items will be held centrally after 24 hours for up to 30 days.
Please note that property may not be handed in for several hours after it is lost.
How to reclaim your property
- Telephone +44 1624 662525 to state which service the item was left on and provide a full description of the lost property. Alternatively you can email the details to email@example.com. Please include a daytime contact telephone number.
- Providing the property has been located, arrangements will be made for you to collect it from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, generally the following day.
- Passengers wishing to claim valuable items such as jewellery, official documents, passports, mobile phones and bank cards will be required to provide proof of ownership or detailed knowledge of the items being claimed.
