Tax agreement with Lesotho comes into force

Tuesday, 6 January 2015
The Isle of Man’s Agreement for the Exchange of Information Relating to Tax Matters with the Kingdom of Lesotho entered into force on 3 January 2015.
The agreement is part of the Isle of Man Government’s programme of developing closer economic and taxation co-operation with other countries around the world.
It was signed on 16 September 2013 in London between Eddie Teare, the Isle of Man’s Treasury Minister, and Mrs Maanna Mapetja, the Acting High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Lesotho in the United Kingdom.
The Isle of Man ratified the agreement at the November 2013 sitting of Tynwald, and on 26 November 2013 the Isle of Man Government informed the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho that ratification had taken place.
The High Commission of the Kingdom of Lesotho in the United Kingdom has now confirmed that Lesotho has completed its own ratification procedures.
The text of the agreement can be viewed on the International Agreements page of the Isle of Man Treasury Income Tax Division’s website at:
