Tax agreement with Indonesia comes into force

Tuesday, 21 October 2014

The Isle of Man’s Agreement for the Exchange of Information Relating to Tax Matters with the Republic of Indonesia entered into force on 22 September 2014.

The agreement is part of the Isle of Man Government’s programme of developing closer economic and taxation co-operation with other countries around the world.

It was signed on 22 June 2011 in London between Anne Craine, the then Isle of Man’s Treasury Minister, and Yuri Octavian Thamrin, the then Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in London.

The Isle of Man ratified the agreement at the July 2011 sitting of Tynwald, and on 2 August 2011 the Isle of Man Government informed the Government of the Republic of Indonesia that ratification had taken place.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta, has now confirmed that Indonesia has completed its own ratification procedures.

The text of the agreement can be viewed on the International Agreements page of the Isle of Man Treasury Income Tax Division’s website.
