Southern Area Plan

Following the publication of the Draft Area Plan for the South of the Island in October 2009, and the publication of a Modified Draft Plan in January 2011, the Department of Infrastructure arranged for there to be a Public Inquiry in accordance with paragraph 4 of schedule 1 to the Town and Country Planning Act 1999, this took place in October and November last year and was finally closed in January 2012.

The Department of Infrastructure published the Independent Inspector’s report on the 17th February 2012. After considering that report and obtaining Tynwald endorsement in February 2013 the Plan has been formally adopted.

The details of the plan and the evidence used to support it are available on the Department of Infrastructure’s website here
