Additional opportunity to view Crossag Farm proposals

Monday, 28 September 2015

A presentation outlining proposals for the first phase of development on the Crossag Farm site in Ballasalla will be on display at the offices of Malew Parish Commissioners from Tuesday 29 September.

A public exhibition was held at the Village Hall in Ballasalla last week to showcase plans for the proposed construction of 35 affordable homes.

More than 70 people attended the presentation, which also included an indicative outline masterplan for the remainder of the 31-acre site.

To provide an additional opportunity for people to view the proposals, the Housing Division of the Department of Infrastructure has worked with Malew Commissioners to erect the display panels in the foyer of the Commissioners offices.

The Department is seeking public feedback on the proposed development, which reflects the policies outlined in the Area Plan for the South.

Debbie Reeve, Director of Housing, said:

‘The exhibition last Wednesday generated a great deal of interest and discussion about the proposed development of part of the Crossag Farm site, including issues such as the type of housing, drainage, traffic management and footpaths. In order to give the community more opportunity to view the plans, the Department and Malew Commissioners have made the exhibition available for another two weeks. All feedback will be taken into consideration as part of the Department’s commitment to supporting any further development of the village of Ballasalla in a carefully managed and sustainable way.’
