SAP Assessments

The Building (Amendment) Regulations 2019 that came in to force on 31 December 2019 included a requirement that applications for new dwellings (and extensions over a certain size) be accompanied by a Standard Assessment Procedure calculation. Known as a SAP calculation, this procedure assesses the energy performance rate of the proposal.

Manx SAP Calculator

A Manx SAP Calculator has been created to assist applicants.

The website enables the production of energy performance assessments for domestic buildings as required by the Isle of Man Building Regulations. When provided with details about the dwelling configuration the Calculator will show if the energy performance targets set by the building regulations have been met. The calculator has been created by the Building Research Establishment (BRE).
