Energy Efficiency Grants
Here at the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA), we care about the environment. We know you care too. In 2017, DEFA pledged to deliver on a number of measures to help contribute towards targets put forward within Tynwald's Climate Change Mitigation Stratergy.
Our Energy Efficiency Scheme in 2018 can provide grants of up to 75% of the costs of approved energy efficiency improvements. The Scheme offers up to £250 for each item of work, and up to £1,000 in aggregate.
Applicants eligible for this grant must be residents in the Isle of Man for income tax purposes. Additionally, an eligible applicant's taxable income, together with that of the applicant's spouse, civil partner or partner does not exceed £15,000 per year.
Scheme examples include:
|Energy Efficiency||Total cost||Grant contribution||Applicant contribution|
|Thermostatic Radiator Valves||£200||£150||£50|
|Loft insulation||£350||£250 (max)||£100|
