Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK has today (Wednesday 23 September) announced the appointment of Claire Christian MHK as political member to two Departments of the Isle of Man Government, as agreed by the Council of Ministers.
The newly-elected MHK for Douglas South will serve both the Department of Education, Sport and Culture and the Department of Infrastructure.
The appointments come into effect immediately.
Mr Quayle said:
‘I am delighted Mrs Christian has accepted the opportunity to work with both departments and am sure she will serve with diligence and integrity.
‘As this administration enters its final year, there is a considerable amount to be achieved, and challenges to navigate.
‘Introducing a fresh perspective should always be regarded as a positive move, and I anticipate Mrs Christian will play a full and active role.’
Mrs Christian said:
‘I look forward to starting work with both departments and thank the Chief Minister for presenting the opportunity to play my part alongside this administration.
‘My career and business background have provided a range of experiences on which to draw, and I am eager to help deliver the aims of departments which play such significant roles in our community.’
