Forms for candidates
Nomination form
Individuals wishing to stand as a candidate in the 2021 House of Keys General Election must complete and submit a nomination form to the Returning Officer for their constituency between 10am on Wednesday 18 August 2021 and 1pm on Wednesday 25 August 2021.
The nomination form must be subscribed by a proposer and a seconder and by no fewer than 20 other electors as assenting to the nomination. All assenters must be on the electoral register for the constituency in which the candidate is standing and their elector number must be given on the nomination form.
Declaration of relevant interests
As part of the nomination process, candidates must submit a form detailing all relevant interests which may reasonably be perceived to affect their judgement on the way in which they may carry out their duties if elected.
The definition of a relevant interest is set out in the Section 3 of the Elections (Keys and Local Authorities) Act 2020 and includes those existing at any time from 12 months before the election. By way of example, a relevant interest may include stocks or shares, directorships, sponsorships or membership of a trade union or professional society.
Declaration of Relevant Interests will be published on the Isle of Man Government Website from 31 August 2021 to 23 September 2021 in order to provide a level of transparency for each candidate.
Declaration of donations received
Donations can be used to assist election campaign expenditure, but candidates are required to keep a record of any donations received and declare them by submitting the relevant form to the Electoral Registration Officer in the Cabinet Office on or before Thursday 16 September 2021.

You are required to declare any financial donation which is made by you to a person resident in the constituency in which you are standing.
Declaration of campaign expenses
All candidates in the election, regardless of whether they have been successful, must submit two declarations of campaign expenses:
- the first no earlier than Monday 13 September, being 10 days before election day, and
- the second, subsequent declaration no later than 28 October 2021, being a date within 35 days after the election
The declaration of expenses will be made available for public inspection. This is to promote transparency and integrity within the election system.
