The Children's Therapy Service is a service for school aged children who present with a long term neurological health condition and require Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Children presenting with a long term neurological health condition typically require the assistance of multi professionals due to their level of impairment and may be educated within the specialist units across the island schools. These children may benefit from provision of specialist equipment to support them in their independence.

Children with long term conditions may be seen by the Children's Therapy Team in various settings including:

  • Clinic at the Community Health Centre
  • Home
  • School
  • Clinic at the Hub (Braddan resource Centre) as part of multiprofessional review.
  • Clinic at Nobles Hospital
  • Respite care
  • Hospice

How to access

The Long Term Conditions service can be accessed with a referral from a medical professionalallied health professional or an educational professional.

Suitable referrals are prioritised and depending on need they are allocated for assessment.
