Children's Therapy Service

The Children’s Therapy Service consists of children’s physiotherapists and occupational therapists. As a health service we work with children, their families, carers, and education professionals in order to assist with development of the child’s physical and functional skills, and recovery and rehabilitation from illness or injury. We work with children who have a range of conditions which may lead to sensory or physical impairments.

Some young persons are seen within other service areas as appropriate to their clinical needs following a GP referral.

We do not offer an out of hours' service.

Therapists may work with children in other locations based on the needs of the child, including clinics, schools and nurseries, hospital, home and respite locations.

How to access

Within the children's therapy service, physiotherapy and occupational therapy is provided to children from birth to school leaving age. Over the age of 16 services are transitional only.

Children can access the service via physiotherapist, occupational therapist, consultant, GP referral or other health or education professional where appropriate.
