Young people and mental health

Mental health problems in children and young people are more common than you might think. A lack of awareness and accessibility to valuable information has led to children not receiving the care and support they need.

Check out our CAMHS webpage to find out more about mental health subjects for young people and the local services we offer.

NHS Choices is a great source of information, guidance and advice. Their Youth Mental Health Hub website has a lot of useful information, interactive tools and videos.

Men and mental health

Time to change

One in four of us will experience a mental health problem each year. For men in particular, it can be an awkward subject to talk about, but you don't have to be an expert - just looking out for someone can make a big difference.

Time to Change is running a campaign aimed at helping men to broach the subject of mental health.

Take a look at the Wolfpack video and video blogs from men sharing their experiences with mental health problems on the Time to Change website.

If you think someone you know is bottling something up, there are some top tips cards to help you start that conversation and show how you can help make a difference.

You can also download a leaflet, produced with help from Men's Health Forum which looks at how mental health problems can affect men, warning signs to look out for and some useful tips to help a mate going through a tough time.

Five Ways to Wellbeing

You don't have to talk to a doctor to learn more about your wellbeing and ways to improve on aspects that negatively impact your life. There are five evidence-based ways to help us improve our mental wellbeing.

Visit our Five Ways to Wellbeing webpage to find out more or download the 5 Ways to Wellbeing leaflet from the links section to the right of this page.
