The Community Wellbeing Service is part of the Mental Health Service who are working in partnership with Manx Sport and Recreation to deliver the ACTIV4HEALTH referral scheme at the National Sports Centre.
Being more active will have an immediate impact on your health, ensure long term positive lifestyle changes and help protect your future health. It can also help improve your quality of life and change how you feel, both mentally and physically.
It has been widely researched that regular exercise can have a positive impact on anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, stress and many other mental health difficulties. It has also been found to improve your energy levels throughout the day, help you sleep better, improves your memory, makes you feel more relaxed and overall improves your general wellbeing.
If you and your mental health professional believe that you would benefit from taking part in physical activity, your mental health professional can refer you to the scheme.
The scheme is suitable for people aged 16+.
The scheme offers the use of many NSC facilities, including:
- NSC GYM
- NSC & REGIONAL SWIMMING POOLS
- EXERCISE CLASSES
