The Bridge the Gap (BtG) charity was set up in 2014 to improve facilities and support for teenagers and young adults with ongoing health needs. The Pod, situated in a courtyard behind the Emergency Department and opposite the Diabetes Centre, was opened in 2018 for the use of teenagers and young adults with ongoing health needs. The Pod provides a relaxed, non-clinical, space for young people to access for time off the wards and for those transitioning from children’s services.
