Audiology Home Visits

It is recognised that some patients have great difficulty with mobility and may be restricted in some way from attending a regular hospital appointment. Home visits can be organised if there is a genuine need.

For all new patients, home visits must be requested and sanctioned through their GP first of all.

For existing patients with hearing aids who are having difficulty with hearing, it is recommended sending the hearing aids to the department to be checked for any repair issues. The hearing aids can either be posted back or collected on behalf of the individual concerned.

If hearing aids are not found to be the issue, the practice nurse at the GP surgery should be approached to check for wax. Wax removal will then be arranged with the GP.
