Drink Safe, Drive Safe, Go Safe

Drink Safe, Drive Safe, Go Safe this Festive Season

Festive health banner 2

‘How will your night end’ is the message behind the multi-agency campaign in the run up to the 2016 Festive Season.

This message will be promoted throughout the Festive season into early New Year. The messages cover a number of aspects from reducing your alcohol intake, consider leaving your car at home to looking at safe modes of transport in getting yourself and your friends home on a night out.

Drink Safe

Drink Safe promotes the harmful effects of drinking excessively or binge drinking.

Alcohol can affect everyone in different ways so make sure you don’t get carried away over the festive period.

If you’re unsure about how much you’re consuming the Change4Life drinks checker shows how many units there are in your drinks!

It’s better to not drink at all, so if you’re going to have a drink, leaving the car at home is the safest option.

The festive season is a time for socialising, spending time with loved ones and maybe even getting a kiss under the mistletoe.

Drive Safe

You can be over the limit to drive on less alcohol than you may think. If you’re out celebrating over the festive period, don’t drink if you’re driving.

A single drink can push you over the drink drive limit so if you’re planning on having a festive drink with friends, leave the car at home. Plan your complete journey to make it home safely.

The price of a taxi or bus fare is far smaller than taking someone’s life or losing your licence altogether.

Go Safe

Plan ahead: use the festive bus timetables or book a taxi to get you to and from your celebrations.

Don’t get caught out drinking and driving this Festive Season, organise a designated driver when going out and never get into a car if the driver has been drinking or taking drugs.

Wishing you a happy and festive 2016 season.
