Student grants

The Department of Education Sport and Culture provides financial support for students undertaking further or higher education, subject to them meeting certain eligibility criteria laid out in the Regulations approved by Tynwald. 

This site provides a general outline of the funding available for students commencing the first year of their course in September or October 2018 and for continuing students. This information is provided for guidance only as each applicant must be assessed on individual circumstances based on the details provided in their application and the Student Awards Regulations. Applicants are required to read the available guidance before making an application for an Award. 

Particular attention should be given to the sections explaining the contribution you will need to make towards your tuition fees and the availability of loans to cover this contribution.

Online applications have now reopened 

Year 1, 2 and 3  Students Applications are now open for all Year 1, 2 and 3 students. Ahead of starting your Application you should create your own Online Services Account.

You will need your National Insurance Number for this. You must have your OWN online services account to start your application. Please do not use a login that belongs to somebody else as you will not be able to complete your application.

Other continuing students – Hardcopy application forms have been posted to all other continuing students. If you have not received a form please contact studentgrants@doe.gov.im

All Student Loan accounts that have been fully repaid will receive Closed Account Statements at the end of July.
