Student Awards Message Bulletin – February 2024

Applications for funding for the 2024/25 Academic Year

The department intend to open applications for funding for the 2024/25 academic year in April 2024 for both 1st Year under and post graduate students.

2023-24 Student Award

Please ensure that the contributors to your award upload a copy of their 2022-23 Income Tax Resident Assessment Notice to their Contributor Account on the DESC digital services platform as soon as possible or at the latest by 22 March 2024 to DESC Digital Services.

If all or part of any of their income is derived from a business or self-employment, they should also submit a copy of the accounts/income & expenditure relevant to the tax year ended 5 April 2023.

This information is required by the Department to verify the income details submitted on the 2023-24 application and finalise the award.

Please Note:

  • If you are receiving a maintenance grant, the 3rd term payment will not be released until the requested information has been received and processed by the Student Awards team

  • Non-receipt of this information will cause delays in fee payments, grant payments and the processing of subsequent applications. This will result in issues with access rights within your institution, and with registration at commencement of the following year
