Measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are to impact Adult Social Care services for older people and those with learning disabilities, which have been suspended or reduced.
Alladult learning disability services at Greenfield Park have been closeduntil further notice, including the industrial unit, the garden centre shop and Greenfield Park Café and Tall Trees day resource centre; Mooragh View Day Service in Ramsey has also been closed. Staff will be redeployed to support service users and families in other ways, as needs dictate.
With effect from 9am on Monday 23 March all regular Learning Disability Respite Care provided at Hollydene Unit, Radcliffe Villas will be suspended. The unit will remain open for emergency respite only and this will be managed on a case by case basis.
Learning Disability Residential Servicesare unchanged but current guidelines apply, meaning that service users who’ve spent time away with family or friends will not be permitted to return to community homes where other residents have underlying complex health needs.
Further measures have now been introduced in Older People’s and Dementia Care support services. All Day Services for Older People in Douglas, Onchan, Ramsey, Peel & Port St Mary along with all Dementia Day Care Services in Douglas, Ramsey and Port St Mary will close.
All Resource Centres for older people and Dementia Care and Support services have now closed to routine admissions. Any emergencies will be dealt with on case by case basis.
The Department of Health and Social Care continues to work closely with third sector colleagues to ensure there is continuity and consistency across all service areas.
