What is the Rehabilitation and Recovery Service?

The Rehabilitation and Recovery Service provides individualised, evidenced-based rehabilitation programmes designed around patient need, which are recovery focused and delivered by a multi-disciplinary team.

Geddyn Reesht gardenTime in the Rehabilitation and Recovery Service offers the individual a period of adjustment to strengthen personal, psychological and social functioning to enable them to recover and return to independent or supported living in the community at the earliest opportunity.

The facility also offers relapse prevention and respite programmes for community patients.

The Rehabilitation and Recovery Service can provide supportive discharge packages for some individuals with more complex needs who need additional support for a 6 week period after their discharge.

Whilst our focus is the individual who has been admitted, we also provide support and information for relatives, carers and significant others, who are involved with the individual to promote active engagement in their recovery process.

Team philosophy

Geddyn Reesht path to recoveryWe believe that all care should be based on an in-depth, comprehensive, individual assessment of need.

Service User Care Programmes will focus on recovery; providing education and therapies to encourage awareness and understanding of their mental health and wellbeing.

Service users, carers and significant others will be fully involved in the care programme with the aim being for the person to return to independent or supported living and to be socially included within the community.

We aim to make the road to recovery a positive experience for the service user.
