The unit is the admission and day treatment facility for people suffering from acute mental illness and/or distress. It caters for the adult population of the Island (16+). We have 20 inpatient beds and also offer treatment on a daily attendance basis to suitable clients. The unit has been refurbished to a very high standard, with all bedrooms having en-suite facilities and several comfortable lounges.
The aim of the unit is to provide a safe environment delivering specialist care from a multi disciplinary team which focuses on the individual needs of the patient. When someone is admitted a comprehensive mental health assessment will be carried out. This may involve some of the following professionals:
- Registered nurses
- Occupational therapists
- Art therapist
Following assessment, a treatment/care plan will be compiled with the person. This plan will identify what treatment, support and therapy is required. The plan is subject to regular review with the individual. This may involve, with their permission, relatives, carers and other health care professionals.
There is an active, independent service user group, the Service Users’ Network ('SUN'). If you require further information please tel: +44 7624 457756 or ask a ward nurse.
