The Energy Awards acknowledge the achievements of local businesses and public sector organisations in reducing their energy consumption and improving the efficiency of their organisations.
There are six awards in total; three awards presented for local businesses and three awards for government organisations.
If your organisation has an energy efficiency success story to tell then let us know about it and enter one of the following three categories:
- Best Innovation
- Best Practice

The Department for Enterprise offers training for energy champions in commercial organisations and through the Business Support Scheme provides assistance towards an energy survey to identify energy efficiency projects within the organisation for the energy champion to implement.
The department has assisted the commercial sector to train 84 energy champions within their organisations.
An Energy Champion is a nominated individual within an organisation who receives training in energy efficiency and is responsible for pursuing and implementing energy saving projects within their organisation.
The department is currently reviewing the course to design training to suit specific audiences rather than deliver a general overview.
