Telecom Connection Scheme

Vision 2020, the Government’s strategy to grow the economy by 2020, establishes the Isle of Man as a 'Tech Isle' with ICT (Information and Communication Technology) based industry our current number one source of growth. E-business and E-Gaming currently account for approximately 25% of the Island’s GDP.

Technical consultants recently undertook a review on behalf of the Department of the Isle of Man telecoms infrastructure to ensure the Island remains an attractive destination for all businesses including ‘bandwidth-hungry’ businesses.

One of the recommendations from the study was to establish a voucher scheme for small and medium enterprise businesses (SMEs) to assist with the cost of connection and line rental.

The Department for Enterprise introduces the Telecom Connection Scheme which offer grants for up to £500 to assist with the cost of connection and first year broadband or leased-line rentals for new businesses establishing on the Island in export earning sectors including Manufacturing, E-Business, E-Gaming, Tourism, Financial and professional services.

How to Apply

To apply for a Telecom Connection Grant, we require a completed Application form signed by a director/principal on behalf of the company.
