Car tax exemption

A disabled person receiving the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance or a mobility premium as part of their Income Support and who is the registered keeper of a motor vehicle may be able to obtain exemption from paying vehicle licence duty.

In order to apply for vehicle licence duty exemption it is necessary to obtain a certificate MY812 from:

For war pensioners who are not in receipt of Disability Living Allowance but who are the registered keeper of a motor vehicle exemption may still be granted so long as they satisfy certain medical criteria. Further information can be obtained from:
