The Jane Crookall Maternity Unit team is holding a unique event focused on enhancing health and wellness for expectant mothers.
The event will consist of a series of drop-in sessions at The Roundhouse, Braddan, between 9am to 1pm every day from 20 to 24 January 2025.
The purpose of these sessions is to inform and educate women and families about the services available on the Island during their pregnancy journey.
The event will be attended by various services that currently assist families and pregnant women to help promote healthy habits. There will be stalls showcasing these services, along with a designated area for talks and seminars, with a view to guide women and their families.
Participants will include: Midwives, Health Visitors, Birth Reflection Team, Police, Oral Health representatives, Bereavement Midwife, Motiv8, Vaccination Team, Aqua Natal, Early Help and Support, Neonatal Unit and Quit4Two.
Head of Midwifery, Regan Baggley, commented:
'We understand that being pregnant can be daunting and stressful, whether it’s the first time or otherwise. This week is an opportunity for parents to come along and discuss any concerns with the team, to find out what support is available and how you can maintain healthy habits. All expectant mothers and people who are planning to start a family are welcome. A timetable of available services will be shared soon – we look forward to seeing you there!'
