Patients who were due to travel today (Friday 06/03/2020)
The patient transfer office has attempted to contact and has spoken to the majority of all patients yesterday afternoon/evening who were due to travel on scheduled Flybe flights today. All patients were offered the opportunity to travel to the UK by the evening ferry with accommodation and travel whilst in the UK to be funded by the Department.
Patients who were due to travel Saturday 07/03/2020 and Sunday 08/03/2020
Patients booked on scheduled flights over the weekend with Flybe have been contacted this morning and were offered the opportunity to travel to the UK by the evening ferry. Accommodation and travel whilst in the UK will be funded by the Department.
Patients due to travel Monday 09/03/2020
Patients booked on scheduled Flybe flights will start to be contacted this afternoon/tomorrow morning and offered the opportunity to travel to the UK by the evening ferry. Accommodation and travel whilst in the UK will be funded by the Department.
Patients travelling between Tuesday 10/03/2020 and Monday 16/03/2020
We will issue an update as soon as possible. We would greatly appreciate it if you do not telephone or email the Patient Transfer Office just yet unless you have immediate clinical concerns, in order that we may concentrate on bookings for patients needing to travel within the next few days.
If your travel has not yet been booked by us and you are worried about securing a seat to get to or from your appointment then you are welcome to book your own travel and claim expenses in accordance with the guidance in the previous section.
Patients travelling after Monday 16/03/2020
We are working with our travel agent and hope to be able to book or transfer you to a suitable flight before your date of travel. We will update you as soon as possible and, in the meantime, we would greatly appreciate it if you do not telephone or email the Patient Transfer Office just yet in order that we may concentrate on bookings for patients needing to travel within the next few days.
Patient Transfer Office – Extended Hours
The patient transfer office will extend opening hours as follows to aid urgent patient bookings and queries:
- Friday 06/03/2020 9am to 7pm
- Saturday 07/03/2020 9am to 12pm
- Sunday 08/03/2020 9am to 12pm
