Contribution Based Jobseeker's Allowance

Entitlement to Contribution based Jobseeker's Allowance JSA (Cont) is based on your National Insurance record. It is not means-tested. JSA (Cont) can be paid for a maximum period of 6 months at a time.

National Insurance contribution conditions for JSA(Cont)

To qualify for JSA you must have paid enough National Insurance contributions as an employee or share-fisherman in the previous two tax years before you claim. Self-employed contributions don't count towards JSA (Cont).
