MANNGIS On-line Mapping

MANNGIS is a pan-Government project, set up in 1992, to facilitate and encourage a joined-up approach to the development of digital map data, gazetteers and Geographic Information Systems in Government Departments and Statutory Boards.

The MANNGIS Online site provides links to a range of online maps tailored to meet the customer needs of specific departments or agencies of Government. Most of these online maps include the following facilities:

  • All-Island address searches based on the corporate Government Property Database
  • Map navigation tools
  • All-Island coverage of up-to-date maps including traditional “vector” maps, aerial photography and historic maps, all down to a very detailed level
  • A number of map overlays defining Government services, statutory boundaries etc which can be queried via an address or pin location on a “Where is My Nearest…?” basis or by clicking on individual features to display further information and links out to other web resources.

All map layers are retrieved either directly or overnight from “back-office” systems and hence represent the most up-to-date information available. Further map content is being added on a regular basis and integrated with existing web content and online services.

The use of MANNGIS Online Maps is subject to the terms and conditions set out below. By using the maps you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these conditions. These terms and conditions are in addition to the general Terms & Conditions which can be found on any page on the website.

We are always looking for ways to improve the site. If you have any suggestions or comments, we would be pleased to hear from you. To contact us, either write or email:

Conditions of use

See the website General Terms and Conditions regarding data accuracy, suitability and limitation of liability.

If map errors are discovered, please notify the relevant Department, or contact the MANNGIS team and we will endeavour to correct them.

Accessibility

It is not always feasible to achieve full accessibility with online maps due to their interactive and image-based nature. The ArcGIS Online software platform used is supplied by ESRI Inc; their accessibility policy can be viewed on their website.  We wish to ensure where possible that disabled users can access this service. Please submit any feedback using the links at the bottom of this page.
