The Teachers' Superannuation Order 2011 - Scheme Rules

The Teachers’ Pension Scheme on the Isle of Man is the Teachers’ Superannuation Order 2011.

This is a statutory scheme on the Isle of Man and mirrors the Teachers’ Pension Regulations 2010 which are in place in England and Wales and came into effect on 1 September 2010.

Tynwald approved the Isle of Man Scheme on 12 April 2011 and backdated it (with necessary modifications and exceptions for the Isle of Man) to the same date that in came into force in England and Wales.

Further amendments were introduced by the Teachers’ Pensions Amendment Order 2012 in January 2013 to increase the contribution rates paid by members.

From 1 November 2018, the Teachers’ Superannuation Order (Amendment) Scheme 2018 changed the rate at which future pension builds up were made for new and current members. For more information please see Teachers’ Scheme Review page.
