Manx Care Careers

Do you know what a career in Manx Care could look like?

Some background context about health and social care on the Isle of Man

Manx Care is the Isle of Man’s equivalent of the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), delivering free at the point of access healthcare to the Island’s population, alongside statutory social care activity. We employ around 3,000 colleagues, with an aspiration to be ‘the best small Island health and care system in the world’. A significant transformation programme is underway to support the achievement of this, focused on the provision of integrated services as close to a patient’s home as possible and achieving financial stability. In parallel, a cultural development programme will transform the colleague experience, giving every single individual the opportunity to play a leading role within the transformation of services, supporting their development, and creating an environment where they can flourish in their careers.

So, why choose Manx Care?

Manx Care offers exceptional career prospects for Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers and Allied Health Professionals, with fully funded further education opportunities across a number of specialist areas as well as broader professional studies. There’s a huge support network across our organisation to help colleagues fulfil their potential and achieve their career aspirations thanks to a culture of continuous learning and development, on-the-job training and a dedicated skills training facility within the grounds of Noble’s Hospital which is fully equipped with a simulation suite and library.

As voted by medical students themselves in a GMC survey, Noble’s Hospital was recently named in a General Medical Council (GMC) survey as the best provider of medical education for junior doctors in the first year of their three-year training programme (first out of 170 UK NHS Trusts, 2020-21), so the quality of the learning and development we provide speaks for itself!
